## State Attorneys General Slam AI Giants Over “Delusional” Outputs
A coalition of state attorneys general has issued a stern warning to leading artificial intelligence developers, including Microsoft, OpenAI, and Google, demanding immediate action to rectify “delusional” and dangerously inaccurate outputs from their AI models.
The AGs expressed deep concern over AI systems generating false information, fabricating legal citations, and producing outputs that they deem “hallucinatory” or completely baseless. They argue that such unreliable content poses significant risks, from spreading misinformation and undermining public trust to potentially leading to real-world legal and financial harm.
The letter calls upon AI companies to prioritize accuracy, implement robust fact-checking mechanisms, and ensure greater transparency regarding their models’ capabilities and limitations. This collective demand underscores growing regulatory scrutiny over the rapid advancement of AI and signals a heightened expectation for accountability and reliability from the tech industry.
